Viva La Vida

I know its a bit late to write a review, as the album was released back in june……..and most of the people would be through it by now. But still its my space and nobody can stop me, so no wonder I will go on and write one.

I love coldplay …………… and when Chris Martin said “We wanted to do an album after which we could die happily” I knew something big was coming. I downloaded it the day the first single (“Violet hill”) was aired. But didn’t get much time to listen to all the songs. But not that I been through all the songs atleast thrice, I am in a position to write something about them.

Viva La Vida

The first song in the album is “life in technicolor” which is a soft two and a half minutes long instrumental with a bit of indian touch to it…….which I like, good start to the album.

other songs that I loved are…….

• “Lost” :- its like a sad ballad with prominent drums and no guitars. The beats are bit like “We will rock you-five” but zillion times better lyrics than latter……………which can be expected of coldplay. Few lines from the song are………

Just because I’m losing
Doesn’t mean I’m lost
Doesn’t mean I’ll stop
Doesn’t mean I will cross

Just because I’m hurting
Doesn’t mean I’m hurt
Doesn’t mean I didn’t get what I deserve
No better and no worse

• “Viva La Vida” :- is nice, very typically coldplayish song with which they could have never gone wrong. Its currently no. 1 in both US and UK charts, first song from coldplay to do so……………..strange, I thought there would be more.

“Violet Hill” is also good, not exceptional though. The rest of them are average, not much to write home about. Not bad mind you, Anything from coldplay can’t be bad.

So all-in-all its a fine album, definitely worth listening once. Go and download it if you still haven’t.

……..may be after “A rush of blood to the head”  and “X & Y” I expected something spectacular from coldplay, and I am slightly disappointed.

Here I am….

After doing “absolutely nothing” in two month long summer holidays of mine except for learning new card games which can lead to tremendous loss of money before u can say ” how ? ” and paying rare visits to the sports complex………..I thought of doing something constructive in the last four days of boring and unbearably long holidays. So here I am writing the first post of my blog, how constructive does it turn out to be?…….we will see.

This may be due to the fact that I regret not doing most of the things I wanted to do before the holidays started and having a blog was one of them. I know I am not much of a writer but this is my modest attempt to put forth my views on everything that includes incidents that happen to me, incidents taking place in this country, music I hear, movies I see, food i eat, places i visit, photos I click(love doing that!),thing I like, things I don’t and so on.

Why wordpress ?

frankly , I don’t know. May be it sounds better than other blog sites. I just googled ” blogger vs wordpress” and found more people favouring wordpress than blogger………so I joined it. The first few days here have been good, the site is very user-friendly and does not take much time getting used to.

So thats it for the day.
